All right! I've finally moved into my new home on Blogger, after far too many years using Xanga, which is practically synonymous with angsty teenagers writing about how much life sucks. I'm no longer an angsty teenager, and I happen to be enjoying college life quite a bit, so I figured that a change of scenery was in order. Those of you who read my Xanga, never fear, I haven't left you--if I feel a twinge of angst, I'll make sure to post it there, rather than clutter up this space with hormone-inspired tales of woe. Now, down to business. Obviously, since this is my blog, I can do whatever I want with it, but I think it makes the most sense to write about things with which I am familiar. Therefore, I'm not going to use this blog to pontificate about major news events, simply because I get my opinions on those subjects by reading the newspaper and listening to NPR, and you, dear reader, can do that just as well as I can and form your own opinions. What I am going to talk about is what I know. What do I know? I am a college student attending Washington University in St. Louis, majoring in Computer Engineering, with a second major in Technical Theatre and Design; I am a longtime Apple Computer aficionado, and I worked for a brief period in one of their retail stores; currently, I work as a system administrator for a small web hosting company under the umbrella of WashU's student technology department. I probably know any and all of those subjects well enough to speak intelligently about them, but for the most part, however, I have chosen to write about theatre. The reason for this is that there are about a zillion and one Apple-, engineering- and computer-related blogs on the internet, but the number of people blogging about theatre is relatively small, and I have yet to find a blog in the same vein as English Cut which is dedicated to tech theatre. Since I don't want to be just one out of a zillion, I'm going to limit myself to theatre, for the most part, and hopefully, some of you will find the theatre posts interesting enough that you'll keep coming back. Thanks for reading, and I hope you'll stop by again soon!
